    Abstract:

Based on engineering vibration control, an experimental study is completed on the mechanical property of TiNi shape memory alloy bar at room temperature. Phase transformation stress, deformation module, residual strain, dissipated energy and so on, are considered as mechanical characteristic parameters of these specimens. The changes of these parameters with loading rate, strain amplitude and cyclic loading are analyzed. The results indicate that superelastic TiNi shape memory alloy bars have the characteristics of high energy dissipation and damping property, so they are suitable for engineering vibration control. Even so, in order to apply this alloy bars to practice, the influence of loading rate, strain amplitude and cyclic loading on mechanical behavior of TiNi shape memory alloy bars should be considered, and the appropriate design should be proposed according to practical condition
