    Abstract:

    Room temperature deformation behavior of the hydrogenated TC16 alloys was investigated by quasistatic compression and dynamic compression tests. Microstructure evolution and phase compositions of the hydrogenated TC16 alloys were analyzed by OM, XRD, etc. The results show that the addition of hydrogen decreases the phase transition temperature and promotes the formation of the metastable β phase. In static tests, the deformation limit decreases at first and then increases with the increase of the hydrogen concentration and the deformation rate. For the specimens containing 0.6wt% H deformed at 100 mm/min, the deformation limit reaches or even exceeds that of the initial alloy and the flow stress is decreased by about 200 MPa. In dynamic compression tests, clear dynamic softening occurs and the flow stress exhibits the character of the high temperature deformation.
